Assistant Arts Professor in Scriptwriting – Graduate Film Department
The Kanbar Institute’s Graduate Film Department NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts is searching for a full-time Assistant Arts Professor in Screenwriting beginning in September 2022.
Qualifications
Candidates should have an on-going career as a screenwriter of produced narrative films and/or a significant body of work as a screenwriter of episodic television or streaming platforms.
In addition to a significant body of professional creative work, the candidate will be prepared to participate fully in the program as well as in other functions of the University, as required.
While teaching experience at the university level is preferred, the demonstrable capacity to translate one’s professional experience into dynamic teaching is also acceptable. Evidence of artistic achievement is also required. Faculty members will teach 5 courses per year, advise and mentor graduate students, and participate in departmental and/or school-wide committees. Ongoing professional work is encouraged and expected. Salary, to be negotiated, includes an excellent benefits package.
