The summer before college Auden meets the mysterious Eli, a fellow insomniac.

While the seaside town of Colby sleeps, the two embark on a nightly quest to help Auden experience the fun, carefree teen life she never knew she wanted.

Sofia Alvarez is a playwright and filmmaker based out of New York. She is best known for the film adaptions of Jenny Han’s bestselling novels TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE and TO ALL THE BOYS 2: P.S. I STILL LOVE YOU, both for Netflix. ALONG FOR THE RIDE, her directorial debut for Netflix and Screen Arcade was released in May 2022. Sofia’s work in television includes the first two seasons of Man Seeking Woman (FXX) and the first season of Sirens (USA). Her plays include NYLON (BTP / Theaterlab), Friend Art (Second Stage Uptown), The Fish Bowl (Juilliard), Between Us Chickens (SCR / EST LA) and Panelists (Dorset Theater Festival Pipeline Series) among others. With composer Daniel Roland Tierney, she wrote a musical adaptation of William Steig’s classic children’s book, Amos & Boris which premiered at South Coast Rep in 2018. She has developed work with Ars Nova, Primary Stages, Playwright’s Horizons, MCC, New Georges’, Rattlestick, The Royal Court, The Kennedy Center, the Amoralists, Slant Theater Co, Iama Theater Co. and at SPACE on Ryder Farm. She is a graduate of Bennington College and The Juilliard School’s Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program. She currently teaches in the department of dramatic writing at NYU Tisch. She has served as a panelist for the Austin Film Festival and the National Endowment for the Arts.
