2023 Council Election: Read Candidate Statements; Candidates’ Town Hall on September 5
Candidate Statements for the 2023 Writers Guild of America, East Council Election have been posted online. Each candidate’s name below also links to their statement.
Please join us for the 2023 virtual Candidates’ Town Hall forum on Tuesday, September 5.
The start and end times for the town hall are dependent upon your membership sector.
- ONLY members in the ONLINE MEDIA SECTOR should join at 6:00PM ET.
- Members in ALL OTHER SECTORS should join at 6:30PM ET.
- ONLY members in the FILM/TV/STREAMING sector should remain in the meeting after the Officer candidates’ portion concludes.
Candidates running for Council seats in this year’s WGAE Election will each have the opportunity to deliver opening statements, and then Guild members may pose questions to the candidates. Please also see the Town Hall Confidentiality Policy below.
The 2023 WGAE election will include the following open positions: President; Secretary-Treasurer; Vice President of Film/TV/Streaming; six (6) Film/TV/Streaming Council seats; and three (3) Online Media Council seats. There are no open seats in Broadcast/Cable/Streaming News.
Members may vote only for the Council and Vice President candidates within their own work sector. Members in all sectors may vote for the President and Secretary-Treasurer candidates.
Voting will take place online beginning September 6, 2023 (paper ballots will be available upon request – email Elections for more information).
